ALICE – INFORMATION

Approximately 25,300 households in Bradford County, or 42% of our population, struggle to afford the bare essentials.

Across our region, families are working hard but still walking a financial tightrope.

ALICE ® (Asset-Limited, Income-Constrained, Employed) describes households that are above the federal poverty level, but who don’t make enough money for their basic needs. They are working and paying taxes but are not earning enough to be financially stable.

All Bradford County residents lean on ALICE for support daily. ALICE is the keystone of our communities – they are the childcare workers, customer service representatives, infrastructure builders, health care professionals, retail staff, or the people who take care of our elderly. They live in every city, town, and borough in our county.

When you donate to the United Way of Bradford County, you help our partner agencies provide much-needed services to our ALICE population. Join us in United for Alice and donate today!
