VOLUNTEER INCOME TAX ASSISTANCE (VITA) PROGRAM

Taxes may seem difficult but choosing a way to file doesn’t have to be. Paying for tax preparation can be expensive, with the average cost being at least $250. Keep that money in your pockets and choose VITA!

The United Way of Bradford County, in conjunction with the IRS, is providing the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program. This program offers assistance to community members with filing their local, state, and federal tax returns, and property/rent rebate forms. Local IRS-certified volunteers will provide this service FREE to residents of Bradford and Tioga counties who are:

  • Seniors or,
  • Disabled or,
  • Native American or,
  • Limited English Speakers or,
  • Earning incomes of $72,000 or less in 2024
This service is provided from early February to mid-April at locations in Canton, Sayre,Towanda, Troy and Wyalsuing.

Volunteers are needed for the 2024 tax filing season.
